LibraryMix Studio Privacy Policy
Effective 23 October 2026. LibraryMix is designed around the Music library already on your Mac and does not require a LibraryMix account.
Library data
LibraryMix Studio reads information from the Music library on your Mac so it can audit the library and build playlists. This can include track names, artists, albums, genres, dates, play counts, Last Played information, favourites, dislikes and playlist membership.
LibraryMix creates audit files on your Mac in the folder you choose. LibraryMix Studio does not operate a service that uploads those audit files to LibraryMix servers.
Music automation
LibraryMix asks macOS for permission to control Music so it can read library information and create or update playlists. You can manage this permission in macOS System Settings.
Third-party services
Some optional LibraryMix features use third-party services. When such a feature is enabled and used, the information needed for that request may be sent to the relevant service. For example, Last.fm can be used for track discovery, setlist.fm can be used for concert-setlist searches, and Spotify can be opened as part of the playlist export/import workflow. Those services have their own privacy policies and terms.
During the current public beta, setup for Last.fm and setlist.fm APIs is temporarily unavailable to new users while third-party permissions are being finalised.
Accounts and personal information
LibraryMix Studio does not require a LibraryMix account or sign-in. LibraryMix does not ask for your Apple ID or Spotify password.
If you contact support, the information you choose to send — such as your email address, support information, screenshots and problem description — will be used to respond to your request and improve the product.
Beta testing and diagnostic information
During the beta, we may receive limited information from testers when they choose to contact us or send diagnostic information to help investigate a problem.
This may include your name, email address or Reddit username if you contact us directly; basic device and macOS information supplied through TestFlight or during support; and LibraryMix diagnostic logs that you choose to send us.
Diagnostic logs may contain technical information such as library and playlist counts, performance timings and selection results. LibraryMix Studio does not automatically send these logs to us. You decide whether to share them.
We use beta and support information only to operate the beta, investigate problems and improve LibraryMix Studio. We do not sell this information or use it for advertising.
Tester information may be held in services we use to manage development and testing, including Apple TestFlight/App Store Connect and GitHub. We aim to keep identifying information out of development records unless it is necessary to investigate or follow up on an issue.
We keep beta and support information only for as long as it remains useful for testing, support or development, and may remove or anonymise it when it is no longer needed.
Website
librarymixstudio.com does not include LibraryMix advertising trackers or analytics cookies. The site is hosted by Netlify, which may process standard technical request information needed to serve the site and protect its infrastructure.
Children
LibraryMix Studio is a general-purpose music utility and is not designed to collect personal information from children.
Changes
This policy may be updated as LibraryMix Studio moves through beta and adds services. The effective date at the top of this page will be changed when the policy is materially updated.
